The Power of Your Invitation!

Has the significance of assembling an invitation turned into an under-appreciated task? When planning my son’s 9th birthday party I reached out to the guests for their physical mailing addresses. Many responded, “don’t worry about sending me an invitation.. I will be there” Of course I mailed them one! What child doesn’t love to run to the mailbox and see their name on a letter?

Regardless if your event is a black tie affair or a super casual cocktail party your invitation is the absolute first impression your guest will have. It sets the mood for your event and sets the mind-set for your occasion.

Believe it or not if your invitation is to a social event that’s business related in an aggressive competitive circle, it may be the deciding factor whether your guest attends or NOT…

So when should you send out your invitation?

Six to eight months before an important seminar to which out-of-town executives are invited.

Four to six months before an important dinner to which out-of-town guests are invited.

Three to five weeks before a luncheon.

Four weeks before an evening reception.

Two to four weeks before a breakfast for a large group.

Two to four weeks before a cocktail party.

Two to three weeks before a tea party.

Two weeks no more than four before a child’s party.

Your invitation should also be a reflection of your style! Consider custom designed when it’s an option

I’m completely in love with these leather invites from Bliss & Bone

Step Up Your Proposal – The Pop Up Ring Box

October is the kickoff for engagement season!
Many studies show more couples get engaged during the next four months than any other time of the year.
Before you get down on one knee there are many things to think about. The entire process can be completely intimidating and can leave you flummoxed!

What will I say?
Should I keep it simple or make it grandiose?
What will be the perfect location?
Should I share this excitement with anyone?
How do I hide this engagement ring box?

Year after year men (and women) are becoming more creative with this event! While we can assist you with creating, tweaking and refining your proposal idea until that’s perfect for you; see below an alternative to the bulky ring box and why I think you should rid of it This discreet ring case is approximately 1cm thick with a starting price of $99.00 USD-ideal for 2mm ring bands allowing it to easily be hidden!

Clifton will be taking orders starting in October!! (No exact date)-

Hair Accessories For Your Natural Mane!

Big white dress, huge Miss Universe crown, gloves, and grandma’s strand of pearls.…. If this sounds like how you envisioned your wedding accessory ensemble as a little girl daydreaming in your room, you are not alone! Who knew that our hair do’s and don’ts would leave us standing at a crossroad once our Prince Charming “put a ring on it”??? And for those blessed with that head full of curls that can’t be combed or have made the journey and are now rocking locks, we’ve taken the liberty to pull together a few different options to help get that dream deferred back on track.

Here are a few options if that TIARA just isn’t sitting right.

Side/back pieces: comb or barrettes that can be functional (holding back one or both sides of your hair) and decorative (placed in or on the side of an up-do or ponytail)

Large floral pieces: these blooming beauties are usually attached to a comb and can be positioned many different ways within the world of your mane!

Veiling: Is simply a term used to describe the sheer material.. This image reflects a style of one without a headpiece attached.. BOOM to that lipcolor!!

Hair vines: essentially a collection of bead, pearls or crystals made onto wire which can be bent or positioned in different ways

Decorative hair pins: those can be positioned to look like a tiara, headband or brooch, or can just be randomly scattered throughout your curls, bun, or up-do

Bird cage (Russian cage) veils: these have regained major popularity within the last few years thanks to Reese Witherspoon’s character from Sweet Home Alabama. Remove the veil material and you have your Fascinator

Headbands: try using different fabrics as well as standard headbands to keep your curls at bay or as the photo suggests wrap them between your curls and add an adornment.

Beaded appliqués: these are my new personal favs! The appliqué can be trimmed of the excess material (but leave enough that it stays in one piece), attached to a comb or pinned in place

the possibilities are endless….

The Caviar Manicure

I was going through a few TWEETs the other day and read about a new nail trend that instantly captured my attention. It’s completely a must have for me!!!

I must admit I have never become excited of devouring a plate of small fish eggs although Caviar is associated with luxury, and opulence.  Set to be released next month, a British nail brand will deliver a DIY nail kit to the US that is guaranteed to make you feel a sense luxury and high class!

The finished effect gives nails an instant sophisticated look.

Britain has introduced a new manicure trend called the “Caviar Mani” which uses beads to create a 3D effect on the most simple of manicures.  The Caviar Mani is simple to do yourself just sprinkle small beads over your favorite wet nail polish and let air dry for at least 15-20 mins.  Apply a top coat for extra hold and flaunt.  If you aren’t up for trying it on your own, UK nail polish company Ciate will launch kits exclusively to Sephora soon.

The inspiration behind the Caviar Manicure™ came about when Charlotte, Ciaté’s Creative Director, was looking to create 3-dimensional nails for a front cover magazine shoot and wanted to develop something feminine, indulgent yet delicately extravagant.

The finished effect gives nails an instant sophisticated look.

There are three looks.. This is RAINBOW

Can you say BRIDAL?

A Gift of Comfort!

A wedding party is often comprised of many attendants such as the bridesmaids, flower girl, best man and hostess.

Their responsibilities will vary from family to family and culture to culture. One attendant I personally appreciate as an event planner is the hostess! OMG! What I wouldn’t give for a group of hard working, selfless hostess at each wedding I provide services for!

Be sure to treat to them to an extra special gift for all the hard work they will provide!

Today I came across the PERFECT and cutest token of appreciation for them!!!

What are your thoughts?

What weddings are you looking forward to in 2012!!

We all must agree that the Royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton topped the list of celebrity weddings in 2011. I can easily remember being on vacation in California and setting my alarm just to witness it via my hotel TV.
Sleepy eyes and all, I was excited over the entire affair.. Although I did have a business trip to make that morning!
But come to think of it.. Are they really considered celebrities or categorized as historians? IDK!!!!

It was London's biggest royal wedding in three decades.

There were NUMEROUS of celebrity weddings in 2011..Take a peek at a few of them with me…

Tamera Mowry married Fox News Channel correspondent Adam

Nick Lachey was married for the second time when he wed longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo—-Country crooners Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert tie the knot as well-

“Real Housewifes of Atlanta” star Kim Zolciak married NFL player Kroy Biermann
